In Waa-Mu students become leaders, and some of our most innovative, original musical theatre writing is birthed here. From development to conception to production, The Waa-Mu show is brought to you by Northwestern students.

The Waa-Mu Show strives to place itself at the forefront of new musical theatre writing, continuing to push the limits of the “greatest college show in America” (Associated Press).

Imagine U is for all ages, being friendly and inspiring for children and families. From magical to wild, from curious to comforting, Imagine U is where the ball takes place! We’ve produced and performed The Hundred Dresses, James And The Giant Peach (Chicago premiere), Charlotte’s Web, A Year with Frog and Toad, The Reluctant Dragon, and so much more!

AMTP at Northwestern University partners leading artists in music theatre with Northwestern’s faculty, staff, and students to develop new musicals, bridging the educational and professional worlds through uniquely tailored new work processes.

It’s experimental, transcendent, maybe even weird, but it’s innovative, and groundbreaking.

AMTP’s goal is to nourish and invigorate American music theatre by supporting writers in their early stages of development, creating new connections between the professional and academic communities, and increasing opportunities for education and training with Northwestern’s theatre, music theatre and dance programs.
