Three days before a wedding, a handsome and mysterious man is fished from the Amazon River. Set once upon a time in a small Brazilian fishing village, The River Bride is a tale of true love, regret, and two sisters who struggle to be true to each other and their hearts.

About Our Guest Director
Miranda Gonzalez, is a Blaxican Chicago native, writer, director, producer. Currently the Producing Artistic Director at UrbanTheater Company (UTC). A founding ensemble member of Teatro Luna and has devised and developed plays since 2000 and has a TEDx talk “The Fear of Decolonization”. She was part of the Disney Live Entertainment Imagineering 2024 Creative Cohort. Her immersive play Back In The Day: an 80’s House Music Dancesical, World Premiered UTC in the fall of 2019. She is part of the Imaginistas cohort at Latino Theater Company where her play Mascogos, about the Underground Railroad to Mexico, premiered in October 2025. Directing, writing, and devised work include;Remote Learning Curve with Albany Park Theater Ensemble, Evolution of Sonero (Los Angeles & Chicago) by Flaco Navaja, Thank You for Coming.
