Toilet Fire: Rectums in the Rectory

October 8-11, 2026

This tour-de-toot ultimately asks: How can we best relieve suffering?

Written and performed by Eliza Bent
Directed by Bonnie Metzgar
Accompaniment by Ruth Margraff

No matter how different we all are, we are united by one commonality: our need to go. Using the structure of an ancient religious ritual, this show is both ceremony and celebration. Discussions about matters of digestion, philosophy, and faith arrive with explosions of song, audience participation, and unexpected textual twists.

Approximate run time: 90 minutes, no intermission
Suggested ages: 14+
