Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl retells the Greek myth about love that transcends death. Told from Eurydice’s viewpoint, this play depicts how Eurydice is seduced into death on her wedding day and must decide whether to return to earth or to stay in the underworld. The New York Times called this Drama League Award recipient a “weird and wonderful new play.”

Director
Hamid Dehghani, director of Eurydice, is a second-year MFA directing candidate at Northwestern University. Hamid has received several awards as an actor, playwright, and director from International Festivals in Iran. A graduated from Tehran University of Art in Iran with a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Directing, he worked professionally in the theatre in Tehran for more than 10 years until he moved to the United States in 2018 to continue his education. Most recently, Hamid directed A Moment of Silence by Mohammad Yaghoubi at Northwestern in 2019.
