Coronavirus (COVID-19) Event Updates

The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to present unprecedented challenges and has caused many including us to rethink our programming in order to keep our students, faculty, staff, and community patrons safe. In accordance with Northwestern University and government mandates and guidelines, the Virginia Wadsworth Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts along with the School of Communication has postponed the remainder of our 2019/20 Mainstage Season as a measure to help combat the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

At this time, we are postponing Peter and the Starcatcher, originally slated for April 24 – May 3, and Peerless, originally scheduled for May 15-24. We hope to reschedule Peter and the Starcatcher and Peerless during the Fall Quarter. Details regarding the entire 2020/21 Wirtz Center Mainstage season will be forthcoming.

The Waa-Mu Show Co-Chairs have shared a message regarding performances of The Waa-Mu Show.

In addition, Kiss of the Spider Woman and The Glass Menagerie, two MFA Lab Series shows slated for May, will be rescheduled.

All March and April screenings of National Theatre Live (Stage on Screen) events have been canceled.

We will be reaching out via email to patrons who have purchased tickets for these impacted events to provide them options. The Wirtz Center will provide future updates via this website and our Twitter and Facebook accounts.
